Application notes for the N8101 DC Power Source

with AC voltage as the input

AC voltage (the sine wave kind, like your house's wall outlet, only much lower voltage).

While the N8101 is specifically design to support model railroading in either a DC (analog) or DCC environment, it will also convert am AC voltage (not exceeding 16-volts) to DC, with filtering sufficient to power devices like our LEDs or our lighting special effects Simulators. If fact, it should be able to power any DC device providing total current consumption for the connected device or devices, does not exceed 200ma.
