Trees & diorama built by John McCarthy - 2004
© 2008 Ngineering

This incredible N-scale winter scene was created using our NS038 and NS041 Tree Frames. Although the actual distance from track center to backdrop is only 7" (93 scale feet), by cleverly placing smaller trees toward the rear and rolling the top of the hill beyond the line of sight, the illusion of "forced perspective" gives the impression of a much greater distance, roughly 1/8 mile (660 scale feet). Having trees that look real make the scene much more convincing. Note the great shadows they cast on the snow. (white latex paint).
